Meet Our Pastors
Our Pastors Toney & Kim Hensley were busy serving as Children’s Pastors in Kansas City when God called them to Lee’s Summit in 1986 “to raise up and army of believers, to reach the lost and disciple the found.” They are our founding & lead pastors with a heart and passion to lead a community of people who love God & love people. With 4 sons & 4 daughters in-law, 10 grandsons & 1 granddaughter, they know what family is. They know that church is not a building or event, but a people, and those are people they call family.

What To Expect
Sunday’s service is typically about 1.5 hours long, with the most welcoming community greeting you the moment you pull into the parking lot. We believe the church needs to gather, and that our times together are essential.
First Time
Everyone is welcome at The Rock. Upon arrival, our parking team (PT) will help direct you where to park (we have expecting mother/guest & handicap parking). The PT will help get you to the front door, where our welcome team will be waiting for you. The welcome team will answer any questions you may have and help you get to where you need to go (rock nursery/kids, sanctuary, etc). They’ll show you to the connect room, where you can further ask questions about ministries, discipleship, sign up for upcoming events, fill out a connect/volunteer card. All of our first time guests get free coffee down at the Journey Well Coffeeshop.
What Do I Wear?
There is no set dress code when joining us for Sunday Service.
What About My Kids/Teen?
For Sunday Service, we have Rock Nursery for infants-3, Rock Kids 4-6 & Rock Kid’s Church 7-12. We welcome middle school & high schoolers to join us in the main service. We believe they aren’t waiting to be part of the the church, they are the church of today. On Wednesdays we have Rock Youth specifically for them at 7pm.
